Cross Country National Poll and Regional Rankings Announced

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its national coaches’ poll and regional rankings this week. Both men’s and women’s cross country programs from Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Texas were included in the national rankings.

For Iowa State and Oklahoma State, both their men’s and women’s cross country programs were ranked in the coaches’ poll for the second straight release.

The poll for the men saw Iowa State stay at No. 5, while Oklahoma State moved up two spots to No. 23. As for the women, Iowa State came in at No. 18 and Oklahoma State remained at No. 26. Texas entered the poll for the first time this season at No. 29.

In the most recent women’s regional poll, Oklahoma entered the rankings for the first time this season at No. 7 in the Midwest Region, while Kansas (Midwest, No. 8), Oklahoma State (Midwest, No. 3), TCU (South Central, No. 2) and Texas (South Central, No. 2) were listed in their respective region. Baylor (South Central, No. 4), Iowa State (Midwest, No. 1) and West Virginia (Mid-Atlantic, No. 6) remained in the same spot after the first two weeks of cross country action.

The men’s regional rankings saw no movement in the Midwest region. The Mountain region saw Texas Tech moved up one spot to No. 14 from the No. 15 spot. Baylor made a four-spot jump into No. 8 in the South Central region, while Texas stayed at No. 2.
