Four Big 12 student-athletes were named to the United Soccer Coaches Division I Scholar All-America Teams. Bianca St. Georges (West Virginia), Julie James (Baylor) and Cyera Hintzen (Texas) were name to the first team, while Easther Mayi Kith (West Virginia) was tabbed a third team honoree.
St. Georges, a two-time team captain, boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA in exercise physiology. The season, the senior defender was also named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and Academic All-America of the Year.
James netted a 3.73 GPA in entrepreneurship/economics and is the only student-athlete in program history to earn multiple Scholar All-America honors.
Hintzen, who maintained a 3.42 GPA in applied movement science, was also the program’s first Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
Named Most Outstanding Defensive Player at the 2018 Big 12 Soccer Championship, Mayi Kith garnered a 3.80 GPA in exercise physiology.
All four players were named to the All-Big 12 First Team and were recently named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region First Teams.
Players on this year’s Scholar All-America Teams will be formally acknowledged for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom at the All-America Ceremony & Reception on Jan. 12, 2019 at McCormick Place West in Chicago in conjunction with the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Convention.
