Texas Tech’s Karli Hamilton and Oklahoma’s Mariah Lopez earned the first Big 12 softball weekly awards for the 2019 season.

Hamilton was awarded Big 12 Softball Player of the Week for her dominant performance on offense, helping Texas Tech to a perfect 5-0 weekend. The junior outfielder leads the Big 12 in hits (9), runs (9), steals (4) and on-base percentage (.650) after one week of action.

Lopez tabbed Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 over two starts this weekend against Syracuse (6-0) and Charlotte (13-0). The junior was the only Big 12 pitcher this week with multiple complete-shutout performances (2). She did not surrender a run, earned or unearned, in 12 innings pitched.

This is the second career Player of the Week honor for Hamilton and the second career Pitcher of the Week honor for Lopez.
