Camila Romero (Oklahoma) and Parker Wynn (Texas Tech) were named the Big 12 Tennis Players of the Week.
Romero clinched the win for OU over Arizona State in a three-set victory to earn her second clinching win and fifth singles victory of the year. In doubles play, No. 51 Romero and doubles partner Martina Capurro trailed 4-2 in their match before battling back to secure a the victory. With the win from the Oklahoma duo, the Sooners remained undefeated in doubles points this season.
Wynn captured wins against three ranked opponents over the weekend. His two singles victories came against foes ranked in the top-70 in the nation, including a straight-set victory over No. 42 Luis Erlenbusch of No. 19 Tulane. In doubles action, Wynn and partner Bjorn Thomson took down the No. 34 ranked tandem.
This week’s award marks the first all time for both honorees and the second for both OU and TTU.
