OKLAHOMA CITY—Top-seeded Baylor outscored No. 2-seed Iowa State 19-5 in the fourth quarter to collect a 67-49 victory and the program’s 10th Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship title.

The Lady Bears (31-1) applied pressure early to begin the game, and they spread the ball well amongst each other throughout the first half en route to a 30-25 halftime advantage.

The game was tied six times including at the 3:09 mark in the third quarter, as Bridget Carleton’s jumper tied the game at 41-41.

Despite a strong third quarter performance from Alexa Middleton and Carleton, the Lady Bears took full control from that moment and outscored ISU 26-to-8 down the stretch.

Big 12 Championship Most Outstanding Player, Kalani Brown, tallied 17 points and 7 rebounds. Lauren Cox, who earned a spot on the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team, contributed 17 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Chloe Jackson chipped in with 16 points in the triumph.

Carleton, Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Year, finished 13 points and All-Tournament Team honors.  Middleton paced the Cyclones with 18 to earn All-Tournament accolades. Texas’ Sug Sutton was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Baylor has now won 20 Big 12 championships between regular season and tournament titles. The Lady Bears and Cyclones, along with other Big 12 programs, will wait their destination for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship. The tournament field will be announced on Monday, March 18, at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
