Texas Tech’s Karli Hamilton and Oklahoma’s Shannon Saile earned Big 12 Softball weekly awards for the fifth week of competition.

Hamilton tabbed Big 12 Softball Player of the Week, for the second time this season, after her impressive performance in seven games. The junior collected four home runs, three triples and 15 RBI. She also led the league with 30 total bases, tied for the league lead with five walks and 11 scored runs while hitting .550 at the plate.

Saile was named Pitcher of the Week for allowing no runs over 9.2 innings, one of three conference pitchers to finish with a perfect 0.00 ERA. The right-handed pitcher also registered 20 strikeouts, the second-most in the league this week and a conference-best 14.48 strikeouts per seven innings. Behind Saile’s performance, Oklahoma led the league in ERA (0.64), opponent batting average (.131), strikeouts per seven innings (11.88) and walks per seven innings (1.70) this week.

This is the first career honor for Saile and the third career Player of the Week honor for Hamilton.
