West Virginia right-handed pitcher Alek Manoah repeated as the Big 12 Baseball Pitcher of the Week, while Oklahoma State infielder Christian Funk was tabbed Player of the Week for the ninth week of the season. K-State freshman left-hander Jordan Wicks was honored as Newcomer of the Week. A five-person media panel selects the weekly award winners.

The freshman Wicks tossed a five-hit shutout in K-State’s 2-0 win at No. 17 Texas. He allowed just one baserunner after the fifth inning and retired 11 straight and 14 of the last 15 he faced. Wicks finished with six strikeouts, as the Wildcats improved to 7-2 when he starts.
