For the fifth-straight season, the Big 12 Rowing Championship will be held at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia, along with affiliate members Alabama and Tennessee will meet May 19 to battle for the Conference crown.

The Big 12 Champion will receive the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Rowing Championship at the end of the month.

This season, Texas earned the top seeds in the First Eight, Second Eight, Second Four, Third Eight and Third Four races while Oklahoma snagged the No. 1 seed in the First Four.

In 2018, the Longhorns picked up their eighth Conference championship in the last 10 years. UT is currently ranked No. 4 in the latest CRCA/US Rowing Coaches poll and is the top seed in five out of the six races at the championship.

All seven teams will compete in the First Eight, Second Eight, Third Eight, First Four and Second Four. Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma and Kansas will row in the Third Four exhibition. The competition format for the six events will be a finals-only event taking place on Sunday. The finals begin on Sunday at 9 a.m. CT with the Third Four exhibition and conclude with the First Eight Final at 10:15 a.m.

The championship will be streamed in its entirety on Big12Sports.com. The stream is free to the public. Live scoring is also available through Delta Timing.
