Texas Tech coach Tim Tadlock and West Virginia skipper Randy Mazey were named 2019 ABCA/Diamond NCAA DI Regional Coaches of the Year.

Tadlock, the Midwest Regional Coach of the Year, led the Red Raiders to its fourth NCAA Men’s College World Series appearance in the last six years and the fourth in program history. Tech was the 12th Big 12 program to earn a CWS semifinal spot since 2002. TTU capped off its season with a 16-8 record in league play and a 46-20 overall record. Tadlock steered his ball club to its fourth Big 12 regular-season title (1997, 2016, 2017 and 2019), the third in the last four years.

Mazey garnered the East Regional Coach of the Year honors after spearheading the Mountaineers to the championship game of the 2019 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship. Under Mazey, Morgantown, West Virginia, played host to the Regional Round of the NCAA Championship for the first time since 1955. Along with his regional coach of the year award, Coach Mazey was tabbed the Big 12 Coach of the Year for the 2019 season.

Two of the 2019 MLB Drafts top-15 picks were Big 12 baseball student-athletes coached by Tadlock and Mazey, in the No. 7 pick Josh Jung of Texas Tech and the No. 11 pick Alek Manoah of West Virginia.
