Griner, Sims Tally Double Digits in WNBA All-Star Game

Former Baylor and Big 12 standouts Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims each scored double-figures in Saturday’s WNBA All-Star game in Las Vegas.

Griner narrowly missed a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds for Team Delle Donne. The Phoenix Mercury star leads the league with 19.1 points per game and is second with 2.17 blocks per contest. Griner became the first WNBA player with multiple dunks in an All-Star game, finishing the day with three.

Sims, who plays for the Minnesota Lynx, tallied 10 points, two rebounds and two assists for Team Wilson. The sixth-year pro is first in the league in fewest turnovers, giving up just 3.4 per contest.

The second half of the WNBA season begins Tuesday, July 30.
