Ashley Paris (Oklahoma) and Adaora Elonu (Texas A&M) have been selected Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively, by a media voting panel for games of Nov. 17-23. Both picked up their first career weekly honor.

Ashley Paris averaged 17 points and nine rebounds while shooting 63 percent from the field in leading No. 2 Oklahoma to the Preseason WNIT championship game. The Piedmont, Calif., native was 8-of-12 from the field for a team-high 21 points in OU’s victory over Middle Tennessee. She added five rebounds and three assists with just one turnover. Against No. 18 Arizona State, Paris posted her second double-double of the season with a 10-point, 10-rebound effort. She led OU in scoring against No. 4 North Carolina with 20 points and 11 rebounds -- her third double-double of the season and second consecutive.

Adaora Elonu, Texas A&M, F, Houston, Texas
Adaora Elonu scored a career-high 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor in No. 7 Texas A&M’s 59-56 road victory at Michigan. She also added six rebounds and two steals. Elonu has made two starts for the Aggies and is currently averaging 6.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in 22.3 minutes of play. She is tied for second among Big 12 freshmen in rebounding (7.3 ppg) and is tops in steals (2.0 spg) through all games played.
