Iowa State at Kansas State
Need to know: 2:35 p.m., Bill Snyder Family Stadium, FCS.
Records: Iowa State 2-9, 0-7; Kansas State 4-7, 1-6.
Scouting Iowa State: The Cyclones will attempt to avoid a winless conference season while ending a nine-game losing streak. Sophomore quarterback Austen Arnaud has been solid and has improved in his first season as a starter. Iowa State's defense has allowed 34 or more points in eight of the nine losses by the Cyclones have forced 26 turnovers.
Scouting Kansas State: Ron Prince will coach his last game in Manhattan. The Wildcats figure to empty the play book with little on the line. Kansas State has committed 15 turnovers over the last five games. The Wildcats are last in total defense in the Big 12 but Iowa State is only 10th in the Big 12 in total offense.
Texas Tech at Oklahoma
Need to know: 7 p.m., Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, ABC.
Records: Texas Tech 10-0, 6-0; Oklahoma 9-1, 5-1.
Scouting Texas Tech: A victory will make the second-ranked Red Raiders the South Division representative in the Dr Pepper Football Championship game. They're also going for their fourth consecutive victory over a ranked team. Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell is the leading contender for the Heisman Trophy and another strong performance could clinch the award. The Red Raiders have produced over 550 yards of total offense in their last four games while their defense has forced 10 turnovers in those games.
Scouting Oklahoma: The fifth-ranked Sooners can throw the South Division race into chaos and improve their national championship chances with a victory. Quarterback Sam Bradford, who suffered a concussion and missed most of last season's loss in Lubbock, leads the Big 12 in passing efficiency and is running an offense that average 51 points and 540 yards per game. Since their only loss, the Sooners are averaging 58 points per game. Oklahoma has won 23 consecutive home games.
