For the second consecutive year and the 10th all-time, the Texas Longhorns women’s tennis program was crowned the Big 12 regular season champions. This marks the first consecutive set of titles for Texas in nearly two decades.
Of the 10 titles, UT has won eight of them outright and shared two (2001 with Oklahoma State and 2007 with Baylor). All eight of the outright titles were captured through perfect Conference play records.
The Longhorns were led by the Turati twins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spot (Anna (9-0) and Bianca (6-3)), while Katie Poluta capped off a perfect 6-0 Big 12 record and Petra Granic held an 8-1 record. In doubles action, the duo dominated the competition with the best record in Big 12 play, a perfect 7-0.
With its win on Friday in Ames against Iowa State, Texas clinched a share of the regular-season title, ultimately securing the hardware outright with its 6-1 win over West Virginia.
