TCU advanced to the NCEA National Championship semifinals for the second year in a row after taking its quarterfinal match on Friday morning in Waco, Texas. The Horned Frogs were the only conference squad to advance, as Baylor and Oklahoma State both dropped decisions in the quarterfinals.
In TCU’s match, the Horned Frogs topped conference-foe Baylor in a close fought match and grabbed the win 9-7. Oklahoma State’s season came to end after a 14-1 loss against Texas A&M.
TCU and Baylor split events, as the Horned Frogs took the western events 6-2 and BU wining Hunt Seat 5-3. The Bears mounted a comeback in the second half of the meet, but the two squads split points between Flat and Horsemanship to give TCU the victory.
TCU will face off with fifth seeded Texas A&M in the semifinals on Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. CT.
