The No. 6 seeded TCU Horned Frogs top the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship standings following the first day of competition. TCU carded a 293 (+5) for the lead.
The team was led by Annika Clark who notched a 69 (-3) mark, followed by TCU’s Emmy Martin (E), Kelly McGovern (+2) and Brooke McDougald (+6).
Trailing the Horned Frogs by only one stroke is Oklahoma State (+6). Kansas (+8) earned third place, Texas and Iowa State sit tied for fourth (+9) while Baylor comes in at sixth. Oklahoma (+13) and Kansas State (+13) are tied for seventh while Texas Tech (+16) is ninth.
On the individual side, TCU’s Clark led championship play while Chayanit Wangmahaporn (ISU) earned second place with a score of -2. Tied for third at -1 was Dylan Kim (BU) and Sophia Schubert (UT).
Action resumes tomorrow morning with the leading teams teeing off last. Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Kansas State tee off at 8:00 a.m., followed by Baylor, Iowa State and Texas at 9:00 a.m. The final group of Kansas, Oklahoma State and TCU begin at 10:00 a.m.
