Eleven Big 12 student-athletes collected 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America recognition, including four first team selections.
Additionally, Texas tallied the most honorees for a single team with five overall selections.
This marks the fourth time the Big 12 has produced four or more First Team All-America honorees (2010, ‘08, ‘05).
The Big 12 is the only conference with two teams with multiple first team members as Kansas and Texas each have two - Kelsie Payne and Ainise Havili (Kansas) and Amy Neal and Chiaka Ogbogu (Texas).
Havili and Payne are among four sophomores named to the first team and are first-time honorees. Ogbogu becomes a three-time All-American after earning first team distinction last season and second team recognition as a freshman in 2013.
UT’s Paulina Prieto Cerame earned second team status and Chloe Collins and Molly McCage were named to the third team.
In addition to Kansas and Texas, Iowa State (Caitlin Nolan, second team), Kansas State (Katie Brand, honorable mention), Oklahoma (Marion Hazelwood, honorable mention) and Ashley Smith (TCU, honorable mention) represent the league.
The Big 12 has totaled 170 All-America selections over 20 years of competition.
