Three Honored In Initial Big 12 Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Student-athletes from Missouri and Texas received Big 12 swimming and diving weekly honors for competition through Sunday, Oct. 23. Igor Kozlovskij (Missouri) was honored with the men’s swimming award. On the women’s side, Karlee Bispo (Texas) earned swimmer of the week and Loren Figueroa (Missouri) garnered the diver award. This is the first career recognition for Kozlovskij, the fourth award for Figueroa and the seventh for Bispo.

Men's Swimmer of the Week
Igor Kozlovskij, Missouri, Fr., Klaipeda, Lithuania
Kozlovskij racked up a first, second and third place finish earlier this month at the Show-Me Showdown. The freshman swam to victory in the 150-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:30.50. He placed second in the 300-yard individual medley completing the race in 2:59.05. His time of 41.83 in the 75-yard breaststroke was good for third place.

Women's Swimmer of the Week
Karlee Bispo, Texas, Sr., Modesto, Calif.
Bispo won two individual events and was part of three more winning relay teams as Texas claimed the SMU Classic over the weekend. Individually, she won the 100 and 200-yard freestyle in times of 49.45 and 1:47.23, while also taking second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:01.63). As part of the relays, Bispo helped give Texas wins in the 200 (1:42.32) and 400-yard medley (3:42.79) event along with the 800-yard freestyle race (7:16.74).

Women's Diver of the Week
Loren Figueroa, Missouri, So., Oklahoma City, Okla.
Figueroa earned first place in the one-meter event at the Show-Me Showdown with a score of 326.50 and also claimed second in the three-meter event by racking up 263.00 points.
