Six Student-Athletes Honored with Big 12 Swimming and Diving Weekly Recognition

Two ties in voting by the league's coaches translated to six athletes earning Big 12 Swimmer and Diver of the Week awards for competition from Nov. 21 - Dec. 11. Neil O'Halloran (Missouri) and Jimmy Feigen (Texas) were named co-men's swimmers of the week, while for a second straight week Matthew Cooper (Texas) earned the men's diving honor. On the women's side, Karlee Bispo (Texas) earned swimmer of the week and Sarah Nelson (Iowa State) and Diana Wilcox (Texas) shared the diver award.

This is the first career Big 12 honor for O'Halloran and Wilcox, the second for Feigen and Nelson and the eighth for Cooper and Bispo.

Men's Swimmers of the Week
Neil O'Halloran, Missouri, Fr., Portland, Ore.
O'Halloran garnered three first place finishes at the Mizzou Invite. The freshman claimed the 100-yard butterfly and met the Olympic Trial Standard qualifications with a time of 1:03.95. He helped the 400 and 800-yard freestyle relay team to top place finishes, along with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley.

Jimmy Feigen, Texas, Sr., San Antonio, Texas
Feigen provided seven top-five finishes to help Texas win the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational with 981 total points. Feigen finished second in each of his individual events (50 and 100-yard freestyle) and also swam on five relays with top-five finishes in each.

Men's Diver of the Week
Matthew Cooper, Texas, Sr., Bethesda, Md.
Cooper helped Texas earn the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational title by taking the top spot in both the 3-meter and platform diving events. He scored over 400 points in each with a 466.80 in the 3-meter and 442.75 in the platform.

Women's Swimmer of the Week
Karlee Bispo, Texas, Sr., Modesto, Calif.
Bispo led Texas to a first place finish at the Texas Hall of Fame Swimming & Diving Invitational as the team tallied 841.5 points to best three other top 10 teams. Bispo set an NCAA qualifying mark while taking first in the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:43.82. She was second in the 100 freestyle and in the top three in eight of her nine events including relays.

Women's Divers of the Week
Sarah Nelson, Iowa State, Sr., Decorah, Iowa
Nelson posted the top scores of her career in both the 1 and 3-meter events in competition against the University of Iowa. Her second place finish in both events with scores of 275.32 and 290.93, respectively, placed her on the top 10 list for best dives in Iowa State school history.

Diana Wilcox, Texas, Jr., Bellevue, Wash.
Wilcox helped Texas to a first place finish at the Texas Hall of Fame Swimming & Diving Invitational as the team tallied 841.5 points to best three other top 10 teams. Wilcox competed in all three diving events, claiming a second place finish in the Platform and a 3rd place in the 3-meter with scores of 291.55 and 312.15, respectively.
