Iowa State’s Gadson Earns Final Weekly Wrestling Award of 2013-14

Iowa State's Kyven Gadson has earned the final Big 12 Wrestler of the Week award for the 2013-14 season. Gadson picks up the fifth award of his career as a Cyclone, earning the honor for competition from Feb. 17 through Feb. 23.

In the Cyclone’s dual against No. 1 Minnesota, Gadson earned a decision over the Gopher’s fifth ranked Scott Schiller. Gadson controlled the pace of the match from start to finish, notching two takedowns in periods one and two. He led 5-1 at the start of the final period. Schiller scored a late takedown, but Gadson prevailed 6-4. It was the junior's first win in four career matches vs. the Gopher All-American.

The Waterloo, Iowa, native finished the dual season 15-0, extending a 30-match dual win streak that dates back to Nov. 25, 2012.
