French went 6-2 with two saves and a 2.84 ERA on the year. He appeared in 21 games, including nine starts, allowing 58 hits and 19 walks while striking out 30 in 66.2 innings. The Dripping Springs, Texas-native held opponents to a .231 batting average.
He went 4-1 with one save and a 2.54 ERA in Big 12 action before being sidelined with a season-ending injury. He held Big 12 foes to a .212 batting average over 39.0 innings of work.
It marks the second consecutive year the Longhorns have sported Louisville Slugger's Freshman All-Americans. Last season, Erich Weiss and Corey Knebel earned the distinction, with Knebel also being named the Freshman Pitcher of the Year.
