• Texas was one of three teams to sweep a Big 12 series on the weekend. UT hit .310 and scored 25 runs in the series win at Oklahoma. The Horns have won 10 straight in Norman and pushed their conference record to 9-3 to remain atop the league standings. Texas ranks first in the league in batting (.284) and ERA (2.43) in Big 12-only contests.
• For the second week in a row, UT remains ranked in the top 10 of all four national polls, including its highest ranking of the year - No. 4 by Collegiate Baseball. Oklahoma State is ranked as high as No. 13 while Texas Tech is ranked as high as No. 24. Oklahoma and TCU are receiving votes.
• Texas Tech swept Kansas State in Lubbock and surpassed its win total and home win total from a year ago with the three wins on the weekend. The 28-11 record is its best mark through 39 games since 1999.
• Oklahoma State also recorded a sweep, taking the series from the Mountaineers in Morgantown. The Cowboys sit in second-place in the league standings and are winners of five straight. Closer Brendan McCurry notched his 17th career save on Sunday, which ties the senior right-hander with Jordy Mercer for the top spot on the Cowboys’ all-time list.
• Mark Payton (Texas) and Bryant Burleson (Texas Tech) each recorded three doubles on Sunday in their respective contests while Kansas’ Connor McKay totaled four home runs last week, including three on Saturday during the Jayhawks’ DH vs. TCU.
• With four more conference victories, UT head coach Augie Garrido will have totaled 300 Big 12 wins in his career. Garrido will be the only league coach to achieve the feat. Garrido has coached UT during its entire time in the Big 12 and has a league record of 296-175-1.
• With three stolen bases last week, K-State senior Ross Kivett entered the Big 12 career top 10 for steals. With 72, Kivett sits in ninth place.
• Three league teams rank in the top 10 nationally in sacrifice bunts - UT (1st), KU (6th) and OSU (8th).
• Five conference teams rank in the top 26 in the nation in average attendance - 6. Texas, 14. TCU, 17. K-State, 24. Baylor, and 26. Texas Tech.
