• Big 12 teams are 38-27 after the first two weeks of competition. Thirty-one non-conference games are on tap this week.

• Oklahoma is the only Big 12 squad ranked in all four of the national polls this week while Texas is ranked in three of the four. Both are ranked highest on the Collegiate Baseball list, which has OU at No. 10 and UT at No. 22. Oklahoma State and TCU are also receiving votes.

• After winning the 2013 Kleburg Bank College Classic in Corpus Christi last weekend, the Sooners improved to 9-0 on the season. It is their best start since opening the year 16-0 in 2011.

• Texas' Corey Knebel recorded three saves last week, moving him into a tie for fourth on the Big 12 career chart with 31. Knebel needs just 10 more saves to tie fellow Longhorn Huston Street for the career record of 41. The junior fanned 10 batters over six innings last week, and his career ERA of 1.70 is currently third on the Big 12 list.

• Texas head coach Augie Garrido notched his 700th win at UT on Friday night as the Longhorns began what would be a series sweep of former conference opponent Nebraska. Garrido needs 40 wins (1,853) to tie Gordon Gillespie for the most wins (1,893) by any college baseball coach at any level.

• Texas Tech pitcher Trey Masek has not allowed a run in 15.0 innings pitched this season and is one of three league pitchers with an ERA under 1.00. Masek earned the Conference's Pitcher of the Week honor for his no decision against Connecticut on Sunday in which he pitched nine shutout innings. Oklahoma State's Randy McCurry also has yet to allow a run over 8.2 IP, while OU'S Dillon Overton sports a 0.56 ERA with just one run allowed over 16 frames.

• Oklahoma's Matt Oberste repeated as the Big 12 Player of the Week. It is the first time a Sooner has won the award in back-to-back weeks since 2011 when Garrett Buechele picked up the award in the season's opening two weeks. Oberste leads the Big 12 in hits (15), home runs (3), RBI (17), total bases (29) and slugging percentage (.853).

• Oklahoma was selected as the preseason favorite to win the 2013 Big 12 baseball regular season. In a vote by the league's head coaches, the Sooners earned six first-place votes. TCU tallied the remaining three first-place votes for the second place spot. Oklahoma has never claimed a Big 12 title and has won the postseason crown on just one occasion - at the inaugural event in 1997.
