OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - In semi-final action between No. 2 Missouri and No. 3 Baylor, both teams went head-to-head through five innings, with neither able to cross the plate. Rhea Taylor got MU’s first hit of the game, but was left stranded as BU hurler Whitney Canion fanned the next two batters. Baylor had two hits in the top of the third as Megan Turk singled and Nicole Wesley hit a double to right field, but both were left on base.

The Tigers made another attempt to score in the bottom of the fifth, but two were left standing after one hit and a hit by pitch. In the sixth, BU’s Bree Hanafin singled to left field, to advance KJ Freeland, but both were left on after second baseman Andee Allen (MU) fielded a hard-hit ground ball to keep the score deadlocked at 0-0. In the bottom half of the inning, MU’s Allen hit a triple to right center to put the Tigers in scoring position. With two outs, Marla Schweisberger stepped up to the plate and hit a single to allow Allen to score the game-winning run.

Missouri (44-9) is now 24-19 in Big 12 Championship play after winning their last three-straight games, and will advance to face the winner of No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 4 Texas in the finals tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. CT. This is the fourth time MU has been in the Championship game in the history of the event, with the last coming in 2005. Baylor ends their regular season with a 37-20 record.
