Landwehr is a 2011 First Team Academic All-Big 12 member majoring in accounting. The setter was also a 2011 AVCA First Team All-American and a member of the 2011 First Team All-Big 12. She has been involved in several community initiatives, including youth clinics, Dr. Seuss Day at Gilbert Elementary, Carnival at Fellows Elementary, flood recovery and children's hospital visits.
Straube, a 2010 and 2011 First Team Academic All-Big 12 selection, was picked for the 2010 ESPN Academic All-District VII First Team. She is a two-time AVCA All-America honorable mention, two-time AVCA All-Region, two-time First Team All-Big 12 and 2009 All-Big 12 Freshman Team (unanimous selection).
Her community service projects include: City of Ames VB clinic, District track meet, nursing home appearance, kids clinic, Dance Marathon fashion show, flood recovery, children's hospital visit, One Heart Equestrian Therapy Volunteer, On With Life Brain/Spinal Cord Injury Rehab Clinic Volunteer, guest speaker for the ISU Men's Coffee Club.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.
The candidate class will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season with those 10 names placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one candidate who best exemplify excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.
The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship, which will take place December 13 and 15 in Louisville, Ky.
