Haley Eckerman (Texas), Kristen Hahn (Iowa State) and Mackenzie Bigbee (Iowa State) have been named Big 12 volleyball weekly award recipients for matches played Sept. 17-23.

Eckerman, a sophomore, earns her eighth Big 12 weekly honor. As a freshman in 2011, she totaled five Rookie of the Week accolades and was a two-time Offensive Player of the Week. This is her third career Offensive distinction, and her eight honors are fourth all-time on the Big 12 career weekly awards list.

This marks the sixth career Defensive honor for Hahn, who earned the award last week and four times in 2011. She has the third-most awards in that category all-time, trailing Caitlynn Vann (nine, Missouri) and Ashley Mass (15, Iowa State). Hahn's teammate Bigbee earns her first career recognition, collecting the Rookie of the Week honor.

All three award-winners are from the state of Iowa.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Haley Eckerman, Texas, OH, So., Waterloo, Iowa
Eckerman led the Longhorns with 14 kills and hit .345 (14-4-29) while adding two assists, two service aces, five digs and one block for a team-high 16.5 points in a 3-0 sweep of Oklahoma on Saturday. The sophomore had seven kills in the first set, hitting .455. For the year, she is ranked first in the Conference in kills (4.50) and points (5.29), while ranking second in service aces (0.45).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kristen Hahn, Iowa State, L, Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Hahn collected 25 digs, the most for a Conference player during league play this season, as No. 19 Iowa State downed Baylor, 3-1, on Saturday in the Cyclones' Big 12 home opener. Last week's performance was Hahn's second-straight with at least 25 digs, after the junior posted 26 in ISU's upset of then-No. 1 Nebraska two weeks ago. On the year, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa-native has recorded six matches of at least 20 digs and is third in the league with 4.78 digs per set. She is also one of two players ranked in the top 10 in both digs per set and aces per set (10th, 0.29).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mackenzie Bigbee, Iowa State, RS, Fr., Williamsburg, Iowa
Bigbee smashed 18 kills (4.50 per set) on .424 hitting last weekend as the No. 19 Cyclones opened their Big 12 schedule with a four set win over Baylor. The freshman's 18 kills are the most for a Conference player during league play and her 18.5 points tie the Big 12 high. Overall, Bigbee is ranked seventh in the league with 3.37 kills per set, the highest ranked freshman of the two on the top 10 kills list this season. She is the only freshman in the top 10 in points, with an average of 3.57 per set (eighth). Through 10 matches played, the Williamsburg, Iowa-native has double-digit kills in nine matches, including a Big 12-best 25 kills at No. 19 Illinois earlier this season.
