Jarmoc becomes the third player in Kansas history to win the distinction. She is first national honoree for the Jayhawks since Karina Garlington was named on Nov. 11, 2008.
Earlier this season, Kaitlynn Pelger (Kansas State) claimed the accolade. The Big 12 has totaled 34 AVCA weekly awards all-time.
Jarmoc posted back-to-back career-high matches against No. 14 Kansas State and TCU last week. With the Wildcats and Jayhawks squaring off as ranked teams for the first time in series history, the junior recorded a career-high 12 blocks en route to her first career double-double (11 kills/12 blocks) in the 3-1 win over the Wildcats. Against TCU, Jarmoc contributed four blocks and also drilled 23 kills (a career-best). She finished the week with 16 blocks (2.00) and 34 kills (4.25). Jarmoc regained the Big 12 lead in attack percentage (.396) and is fourth in the league in blocks per set (1.34).
She was named the Big 12 Defensive Player for her performance - her fourth career conference weekly honor.
