
A Tecumseh, Neb.-native, Straube holds a 3.99 cumulative GPA in her course work leading to a degree in kinesiology. On the court, the two-time AVCA All-America honorable mention ranks eighth in the Big 12 this season with a .315 average. Straube finishes her career at Iowa State with a .300 average, just the second Cyclone in program history to hit .300.
Straube was also named the 2012 Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the sport of volleyball.
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
