The Kansas Jayhawks extend their streak of weekly award winners to five straight weeks as KU claimed the Offensive Player of the Week honor, Sara McClinton, and the Defensive Player of the Week honor, Tayler Soucie, for matches played Oct. 2-5. The Jayhawks have won the offensive award each of the past three weeks, marking the eighth time a school has earned the honor three times in a row in the same season.
KU has now won the Defensive Player of the Week on four occasions this season. This marks the second career accolade for McNorton and Soucie.
The Rookie of the Week honor goes to Texas’ Chiaka Ogbogu, who also claimed the distinction last week.
