Sallie McLaruin (Oklahoma) and Bailey Webster (Texas) have been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America Division I volleyball team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
McLaurin is one of six first team honorees, while Webster is a third team selection.
A health and exercise science major with a 3.73 GPA, McLaurin is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 first team honoree. A native of Midwest City, Okla., she became the first player to win Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors in three consecutive weeks this season. A two-time AVCA All-American, she ranks 11th in the nation with a .423 attack percentage and 23rd with 1.37 blocks per set. She finished her career with 1,351 kills and 558 blocks.
Webster is pursuing a Master’s degree in advertising and maintains a 3.43 GPA. A five-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection, the outside hitter earned her third All-Big 12 First Team selection this season. She ranked fourth in the league in kills and seventh in points for conference-only matches.
