Fred Hoiberg, aka The Mayor, has proven his coaching abilities and he has proven he knows how to weave transfers into Iowa State's rotation. Last year one of those transfers, Royce White, helped the Cyclones make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005. White left early for the NBA Draft, one of three transfers Iowa State must replace. Korie Lucious (Michigan State) and Will Clyburn (Utah) sat out last season after transferring and both are expected to start - Lucious at point guard and Clyburn at small forward/shooting guard. No matter who is on the floor, expect the Cyclones to take and make plenty of 3-pointers.

Coach Hoiberg says
"We're excited about the season. It's a great group of kids. The best thing about it, I don't have to coach effort with these guys. They bring it every single day, and that is a great feeling as a coach. It's a fun group to be around. It's a fun group to practice with every day."
