Five Big 12 Men's Basketball Players To Compete With Athletes in Action

Five members of Big 12 men's basketball teams will embark on a two-week competitive tour of Macedonia and Kosovo with Athletes In Action, it has been announced.  Those taking part this summer will be A.J. Walton and Cory Jefferson (Baylor), Jordan Juenemann and Jeff Withey (Kansas) and Will Spradling (Kansas State).  The Big 12 student-athletes make up half of the 10 NCAA Division I players selected for the trip, with the team coached by Baylor Director of Operations Tim Maloney.

The AIA team is one of eight Athletes In Action international-touring men's and women's basketball teams this summer. This will be AIA's third tour of Macedonia.

The team will depart May 19 and begin a four-day training camp in Strumica, Macedonia. The 10-play squad will play a round-robin tournament May 25-30 against the U20 Macedonia national team, U20 Holland national team and selected pro teams from Poland and Bulgaria. The AIA squad will conclude its competitive tour May 31 against the Kosovo national team in Kosovo's capital, Pristina.
