• Having coached in the league since its inception, Steve Smith (Baylor) and Augie Garrido (Texas) are the league’s two winningest coaches in Big 12 contests. After 17 years, Garrido has tallied 280 total conference wins, while Smith has 247.

Baseball America tabbed four league teams to its top 25 list of recruiting class rankings for the 2014 season, with Texas earning the second-best recruiting class. OSU achieved its highest ranking in program history, checking in at No. 4. Oklahoma also made the top 10 at No. 10, while TCU sits at No. 17. The Big 12 is one of two conferences with three or more teams in the top 10.

• Ross Kivett (K-State) and Mark Payton (Texas) are listed on several of the Big 12’s active career leader charts with Kivett first among active players in games played, at-bats, runs, hits and stolen bases. Payton tops the active leaders rankings for triples, total bases and walks, plus enters the season with an active reached base streak of 39 games.
