Story line
Perhaps the greatest player in women's college basketball no longer wears a Baylor uniform. Brittney Griner's four-year career is complete and now it's time for Baylor to move on. This season, senior All-American guard Odyssey Sims will be the driving force the Lady Bears. Sims could wind up playing anywhere on the perimeter as sophomore Niya Johnson could see time at point guard. Baylor must replace four starters and figures to rely more on its perimeter players after basing its play on both ends of the floor around the 6-8 Griner.

Coach: Kim Mulkey, 372-81 in 13 seasons.
Last season: 34-2 overall, 18-0 in Big 12, 1st.
NCAA Tournament: Lost in regional semifinal.

"I think Odyssey (Sims) is obviously the leader with her abilities … She's the only experienced player we really have coming back. I've got too many young ones. They're all going to have to play. They're all going to make mistakes, and they're also going to try to go well. But they're talented. It's patience. We're going to have to be very patient with them."
