Big 12 Women's Basketball Heads into Week 3

The Big 12 has completed the first two weeks of the season with the nation’s best non-conference win percentage (.828) and fewest losses (24-5).

The Big 12 led all leagues in non-conference win percentage the last three seasons (2011-13).

The Big 12 is outscoring non-league foes by 20.5 points and outrebounding them by 8.5 boards. 

Every Conference team is holding opponents to below a 39 percent field goal percentage.

Three Big 12 players are averaging a double-double on the young season -  Hallie Christofferson (ISU) 28.5 ppg, 11.5 rpg; Amber Battle (TTU) 17.7 ppg, 11.0 rpg and Nneka Enemkpali (UT) 14.0 ppg, 11.5 rpg. Christofferson is the league’s leading scorer and is tied with Enemkpali for the top rebounder.

Five Big 12 freshmen are averaging double-figure scoring with three of those from Baylor - Nina Davis (BU), 19.5 ppg; Minta Spears (TTU), 16.0 ppg; Leticia Romero (K-State), 14.3 ppg; Imani Wright (BU), 12.5 ppg and Khadijiah Cave (BU), 10.0 ppg.

The Big 12 is on a six-year run as the No. 1 conference in RPI and a 14-year streak as the nation’s average attendance leader.

Every Big 12 team has completed the non-conference portion of its schedule with a winning record for six consecutive seasons.

Seventy percent of Big 12 teams are either ranked or receiving votes in the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls - Baylor, Oklahoma, Iowa State and Oklahoma State are ranked in both. Rankings are listed on page 2. The new coaches poll will be released on Tuesday.
