Martin and Johnson Named Phillips 66 Big 12 Womenís Basketball Players of the Week

Brittney Martin (Oklahoma State) and Seanna Johnson (Iowa State) were selected for Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball weekly honors, as chosen by a media panel. Martin earned a weekly award for the sixth time in her career while Johnson picked up freshman accolades for the second-consecutive week.

Despite playing just 25 minutes against UMass Lowell, Brittney Martin logged her second consecutive double-double with a career-high 31 points and a game-best 13 rebounds. She was 15-of-18 from the floor to go with three assists, three steals and one block. The sophomore guard finished with 16 points and nine rebounds against North Texas. Additionally, she had a game-high four steals and four assists along with a block. Martin shot 71 percent from the floor while averaging 23.5 points and 11.0 rebounds for the week.

Phillips 66 Big 12 Freshman of the Week
Seanna Johnson, Iowa State, G, Brooklyn Park, Minn.
Seanna Johnson was named to the All-Tournament team at the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas, Nev., after recording 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two Iowa State victories.  Johnson kicked off the tournament with a career-high 20 points while tacking on eight boards against Eastern Washington. She also dished out five assists and went 11-of-12 from the charity stripe. The rookie guard had a 17-point performance against Auburn, including 11 first-half points to help the Cyclones mount a comeback from a 13-point deficit. She also recorded five rebounds.
