Big 12 Women's Basketball Continues Non-Conference Play in Week 7

The Big 12 went 9-2 last week to improve its non-conference win percentage to .734 (67-23).

The Big 12 is one of two conferences (Big Ten) in which every team is .500 or better.

Seventy percent of Big 12 teams are in the top 56 of the Jeff Sagarin RPI ratings and the Big 12 is rated No. 1 among conferences.

The Big 12 has faced 11 ranked non-conference foes with six of those in the top 10.

The Big 12 leads all Division I leagues in scoring with 77.69 points and in rebounding with 44.22 an outing.

The Conference is second with a .439 field goal percentage (2,440-of-5,556) and .715 free-throw percentage (1,556-of-2,176).

Forty percent of Big 12 teams are in the top 25 nationally for scoring offense with Baylor leading the country (102.4) and one of just two teams averaging over 100 points a game.

Iowa State and Oklahoma State are two of just 14 remaining undefeated teams.

Sixty percent of Big 12 teams are either ranked or receiving votes in the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls - Baylor, Iowa State, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are ranked in both. Rankings are listed on page 2. The new coaches poll will be released on Tuesday.

The Big 12 is the only conference with 40 percent of its teams rated in the top 20 of the AP Poll.

Chelsea Gardner (Kansas) claimed her first Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor while Jadda Buckley (Iowa State) picked up her first freshman award.
