Three Big 12 women’s basketball players were selected in the 2014 WNBA Draft to bring the Conference’s all-time total to 98 in the 18-year history of the professional league.
Baylor guard Odyssey Sims was the No. 2 pick overall, selected by the Tulsa Shock. The Big 12 has had top two selections in consecutive years with Sims’ former teammate Brittney Griner chosen No. 1 in the 2013 draft. The Conference has had 32 first-round selections since 1997.
West Virginia center Asya Bussie heard her name called in the second round at No. 15 by the Minnesota Lynx. Two selections later Oklahoma State point guard Tiffany Bias was chosen by the Phoenix Mercury to give the Big 12 a total of 25 all-time selections in the second round.
