Sims and Medley Named Women’s Basketball Players of the Week

Odyssey Sims (Baylor) and Zanha Medley (TCU) have been selected Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Players of the Week, as chosen by a media panel. Sims earned her first player of the week nod after garnering five freshman accolades in 2010-11. Medley picked up her second freshman award in the last three weeks.

Odyssey Sims scored a season-high 27 points while leading all scorers in Baylor's 94-56 win over Oral Roberts. It was her second game back after missing four contests due to an injury. Sims was 11-of-16 from the floor, including 2-of-5 from three-point range and a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line. She also added six steals and six assists while committing only two turnovers in 29 minutes of action.

Phillips 66 Big 12 Freshman of the Week
Zahna Medley, TCU, G, Springfield, Ill.
Zahna Medley scored 21 points and grabbed a career-high six rebounds from her point guard position in leading TCU to its fifth-straight victory at home. The freshman hit 6-of-11 field goal attempts, including 6-of-10 three-pointers. She also had three assists and two steals. Medley has scored 20 or more points twice this season, while leading all league freshmen in scoring on the year. She is also the only rookie in the Big 12 and one of two players among all classes to have two games of six or more three's.
