Rachel Allison (Baylor) and Tyra White (Texas A&M) have been selected Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, by a media voting panel for games of Nov. 14-16. Allison was honored for the second time in her career. 

Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week
Rachel Allison, Baylor, F/P, 6-1, Sr, Jonesboro, Ark.
Rachel Allison averaged 21.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in leading Baylor to wins over No. 2 Stanford and Florida Atlantic. She produced a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds against FAU while going 8-of-16 from the floor and dishing out two assists in 27 minutes of play. Against Stanford, the senior forward/post led all players with 25 points, 20 of which came in the first half. She was 9-for-16 from the floor including hitting 4-of-6 from 3-point range. In addition, she hauled down eight rebounds and had a block and a steal. For the week, Allison shot 53.1 percent from the field including 50 percent (5-10) from the 3-point line.

Phillips 66 Big 12 Freshman of the Week
Tyra White, Texas A&M, G, 6-0, Kansas City, Mo.
Tyra White led the Aggies in scoring in their season opening wins against No. 23 Pittsburgh and Mercer. The 6-0 guard scored 13 points in both outings in 16.5 minutes off the bench. She knocked down five 3-pointers while also averaging 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks. The victory over Pittsburgh was Texas A&M’s fourth in program history over a Top 25 opponent in non-conference play.
