Releford, M'Baye Named Men's Basketball Weekly Award Winners

Guard Travis Releford (Kansas) and forward Amath M'Baye (Oklahoma) have been selected as the Big 12 Player and Rookie of the Week for games of Nov. 19-25. It is the second career player honor for Releford and first overall recognition for M'Baye.

PHILLIPS 66 BIG 12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Releford led Kansas to wins over Washington State (78-41) and Saint Louis (73-59) en route to the championship of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. The senior guard averaged 20.0 points and shot 65.0 percent from the field before being named Tournament Most Valuable Player. He also connected at 60.0 percent from 3-point range while making 8-of-9 (.889) from the free throw line. Releford is third on the Jayhawks in scoring this year with 11.8 points per game.

PHILLIPS 66 BIG 12 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Amath M'Baye, Oklahoma, Jr., F, 6-9, 215, Bordeaux, France/University of Wyoming
M'Baye finished with 10.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in three contests as the Sooners placed third at the Old Spice Classic. The junior forward's top performance came against West Virginia, as he posted a game-high 19 points along with six rebounds on 5-of-6 (.833) shooting. He shot 50.0 percent (11-of-22) from the field for the week, while making 10-of-16 from the free throw line. M'Baye is tied for second on the team in scoring (10.2 ppg) for the season and also ranks second with 6.6 rebounds per contest.
