The PricewaterhouseCoopers SMU Athletic Forum named nine Big 12 athletes to the 2013 Doak Walker Award Watch List.

Baylor and TCU led the Big 12, each landing two student-athletes on the watch list. Glasco Martin and Lache Seastrunk represent the Bears, while B.J. Catalon and Waymon James have been recognized for the Horned Frogs.

Other Big 12 candidates for the Walker Award include James Sims (Kansas), Jeremy Smith (Oklahoma State), James White (Iowa State), Damien Williams (Oklahoma) and John Hubert (Kansas State).

The award is named for SMU’s three-time All-America running back Doak Walker. It is the only major collegiate award that requires all candidates to be in good academic standing and on schedule to graduate within one year of other students of the same classification.

Semifinalists for the trophy will be announced November 14, and the Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee will cast votes to determine the finalists, to be recognized November 25. The 2013 winner will be presented live on the Home Depot College Football Awards Show December 12.
