Heading into Conference play, eight league teams still have records of .500 or better. Big 12 teams amassed a 13-2-2 record in the final non-conference weekend, allowing only 16 goals in those 17 games.
Defensive play remains solid throughout the Big 12 as every team is allowing 1.80 goals per game or less. Six of the nine schools are giving up less than one goal per game with Baylor averaging just .4 goals per game. In total, Conference teams have 34 shutouts with BU contributing seven of them.
Baylor continues to lead the league in all offensive categories, averaging 7.8 points and 2.8 goals per game off of 23.2 shots per game. Oklahoma State is second in points, averaging 6.4 per game.
OSU is ranked in all three Big 12-recognized polls, while Baylor reappeared in the NSCAA/Continental Tire rankings at No. 25. Kansas and Texas Tech are also receiving votes in the same poll, while BU and West Virginia are receiving votes for the Soccer Times poll.
