This is the second recognition overall and first this season for Larsen. It also marks the first offensive award for Baylor this year. This is the second honor for Arnold and first for Hill.
WVU has had at least one weekly award winner in six of the season's 10 weeks.
Offensive Player of the Week
Dana Larsen, Baylor, Sr., F, Mequon, Wis.
Larsen contributed on both of Baylor's goals in a 2-1 double overtime victory against Texas last Friday night. The senior notched her team-leading ninth goal of the season in the 80th-minute as she fired in a shot from 28-yards out. . In the 105th- minute, Larsen earned an assist re-centering her own corner kick that was deflected back out to her. For Larsen it was her team-best fifth assist of the season. In Sunday's game against Iowa State, Larsen had three shots on goal. Baylor is unbeaten in its last 14 games and Larsen leads the team with nine goals, five assists and 23 points.
Defensive Player of the Week
Vittoria Arnold, TCU, So., GK, Mesquite, Texas
Arnold allowed just one goal on the weekend and helped TCU earn four points, including its first-ever Big 12 victory. She made a career-high 12 saves and allowed just one goal against Texas Tech on Friday night, stopping seven of eight shots in the first half and all seven shots from halftime on, including three stops in overtime. Against Texas, the sophomore posted her sixth career shutout. She was forced to make just two stops, but one came late in the second half as the Longhorns tried to tie the game. Texas blasted 12 shots towards the net in the second half and 17 shots total. Arnold improved her save percentage to 81 percent and lowered her goals against to 1.15. She has not allowed a goal in her last 163:18 played.
Newcomer of the Week
Amanda Hill, West Virginia, Fr., MF, Washington, Pa.
Hill notched her second career goal in the 73rd minute to break a scoreless tie in a league victory over Oklahoma. The game-winner, which led to WVU's first Big 12 Conference title, was the first of Hill's career. She also helped the defense pick up its seventh shutout of the year and limited the Sooners to five shots on the night - eight below their season average. The WVU defense held OU to only one shot on-goal the final 64 minutes of the game. Hill played all 90 minutes in the final home match.
