Texas Tech Athlete of the Year Candidates

Big 12 Athlete of the Year candidates will be highlighted each day through July 19. Fans will then be able to vote for their male and female choices from July 19-21. Fan voting will be considered in the final tally for selecting this prestigious award. Today's featured candidates are Texas Tech's Jaelene Hinkle and Jace Amaro.

Jaelene Hinkle
Junior; Denver, Colo.

♦  2013 NSCAA All-American
♦  All-Big 12 First Team
♦  Led the Red Raiders with six assists on the season – marking the most by any defender in the Big 12
♦  Ranked as the No. 1 defender in the Big 12 by Top Drawer Soccer
♦  Ranks fourth in TTU career stats with with 15 assists

Jace Amaro
Junior; San Antonio, Texas

♦  Consensus and Unanimous All-American
♦  Unanimous All-Big 12 First Team
♦  Led the Big 12 in total receptions, receptions per game and receptions in a game
♦  Averaged over 100 yards a game in both receiving yards and all-purpose yards
♦  College Football Performance Awards National Tight End of the Year
