A dozen Big 12 soccer student-athletes have been named to the 2011 ESPN Academic All-District Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Courtney Seelhorst (Baylor), Bethany Johnston (Baylor), Dana Larsen (Baylor), Sarah Brown (Oklahoma State) and Krista Lopez (Oklahoma State) earned District VII First Team honors.

The Big 12 also secured six selections on the District VII Second Team and one District VI Second Team honoree.

Two Academic All-District teams are chosen in each district, with those on the All-District first teams placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration, which will be announced on Dec. 1.

To be nominated for all-district consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for her career. No athlete is eligible until he has reached sophomore athletic and academic standing.
