Hahn surpasses Haley Eckerman (Texas) who combined for seven honors in 2011. The libero has totaled 12 Defensive Player of the Week selections in her career, which is second-most all-time for that category and third-most all-time for combined career weekly honors.
In addition to Hahn's accolade, Sallie McLaurin (Oklahoma) was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Andie Malloy (Iowa State) earned her second consecutive Rookie of the Week honor. This marks the sixth career award for McLaurin, who was the recipient of three Rookie of the Weeks in 2010 and a pair of Defensive Player of the Week recognitions in 2011.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sallie McLaurin, Oklahoma, MB, Jr., Midwest City, Okla.
McLaurin totaled double-digit kills in each of Oklahoma's wins last week as the Sooners topped TCU and No. 25 Kansas State. The middle blocker hit over .400 in each match. Against the Horned Frogs, McLaurin helped OU secure its 20th win of the season with 10 kills off of 21 attempts and no errors to hit .476 on the night. In an upset victory over No. 25 K-State, the junior led the team with 14 kills and a .481 hitting percentage after she struck down 14 of her 27 attempts with just one error for her 15th .400-plus hitting performance of her junior campaign. She averaged an attack percentage of .479 and 3.00 kills between the two matches. In addition to her offensive efforts, McLaurin led the team in blocks each match, with eight against TCU and six against the Wildcats.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kristen Hahn, Iowa State, L, Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Hahn averaged 5.88 digs per set last week in the Cyclones' wins over West Virginia and No. 3 Texas. The junior collected 30 digs against the Longhorns, marking her third 30-plus dig performance of the season. Hahn has led the Big 12 in digs per set throughout the conference schedule and ends the season with a 5.84 average - 1.00 digs per set more than the second-place player on the top-10 list. Thanks to Hahn's defensive prowess, the Cyclones finish the Big 12 season first in digs, the only team averaging more than 17.00 digs per set, with 17.53.
