Iowa State Athlete of the Year Nominees

Big 12 Athlete of the Year candidates will be highlighted each day through July 20. Fans who follow the Big 12 Conference on Facebook and twitter will then be able to vote for their male and female choices from July 20-24. Fan voting will be considered in the final tally for selecting this prestigious award.

This afternoon's featured candidates are Iowa State's Nate McCoy and Betsy Saina.

Nate McCoy; Men's Golf Senior; West Des Moines, Iowa ♦  All-Big 12 First Team ♦  His 71.65 stroke average set the ISU single-season record ♦  Totaled 14 career top 10 finishes, including eight in 14 tournaments in 2012 ♦  His career 73.21 stroke average ranks second in school history ♦  All-America honorable mention	Betsy Saina; Cross Country/Track & Field Senior; Ames, Iowa ♦  NCAA Champion in the Indoor 5,000-meters ♦  Third place in the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 3,000-meters ♦  Has earned six All-America honors ♦  Most Outstanding Female Athlete of the Meet at the 2012 Big 12 Indoor Championships ♦  Won the Big 12 Indoor 3,000- and 5,000-meter runs.
