Big 12 Faces Tough Non-conference Foes In 2014

The 2014 college football season is on the clock. Big 12 Conference fans can start looking forward to a nonconference schedule that a semi-trailer carrying saltine crackers.

The 30 non-league opponents combined to go 211-168 this past season and 11 of the 22 FBS opponents went to bowl games. Oklahoma State will play defending national champion Florida State while Kansas State will take on runner up Auburn.

Two Big 12 teams will face FCS teams that played for the national championship last Saturday. Iowa State faces three-time defending national champion North Dakota State while West Virginia faces Towson, the team that lost in the FCS title game.

Texas and first-year coach Charlie Strong will face three teams that played in bowl games – North Texas, BYU and UCLA.
