K-State Athlete of the Year Nominees

Big 12 Athlete of the Year candidates will be highlighted each day through July 19. Fans will then be able to vote for their male and female choices from July 19-21. Fan voting will be considered in the final tally for selecting this prestigious award. Today's featured candidates are K-State's Petra Niedermayerova and Tyler Lockett.

Senior; Brno, Czech Republic

♦  Reached the round of 32 in the 2014 NCAA Singles Championship
♦  2014 All-Big 12 in singles
♦  Ended her career as the K-State career leader in singles wins (105) and doubles (74)
♦  Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large First Team
♦  Big 12 Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Tyler Lockett
Junior; Tulsa, Oklahoma

♦  2013 Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year and All-Big 12 at wide receiver and kick returner
♦  All-America Second Team by FWAA and Phil Steele
♦  Ranked in the top 25 nationally in six categories in 2013
♦  Ranks second among active players nationally in career kickoff-return average and kickoff-return touchdowns
♦  Was a candidate for the Biletnikoff and Hornung Awards
