A quartet of players, including two Kansas Jayhawks, have garnered Big 12 volleyball weekly honors for matches played Sept. 23-29. Kansas’ Tiana Dockery claims the Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Caroline Jarmoc shares the Defensive Player of the Week distinction with Kristen Hahn (Iowa State). Texas’ Chiaka Ogbogu was named the Rookie of the Week.

A senior, Hahn has collected 14 Big 12 career weekly awards, which is second all-time in league history to former Cyclone Ashley Mass, who totaled 15 in her career. Jarmoc earns her fifth award in the defensive category and sixth league accolade for her career.

This is the second career honor for Dockery, who earned Rookie of the Week on Oct. 1 last year.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tiana Dockery, Kansas, So., OH, Richmond, Texas/Foster
Dockery cranked out her third double-digit kill effort in KU’s last four matches on Saturday in the Jayhawks’ Big 12 Conference opener, a sweep over TCU at home. The sophomore led all players with 14 kills and committed just one error for a solid .406 attack percentage. Her efforts helped KU hit .369 for the match and a blistering .667 in the second set – the second time that the Kansas offense hit .600 or better in a set this season. Her hitting percentage for the week was the third highest among all league players, while her 4.67 kills and 5.17 points ranked as the second most.

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Caroline Jarmoc, Kansas, Sr., MB, Calgary, Alberta, Canada/Springbank Community
Jarmoc blocked eight attacks against the Horned Frogs to lead the floor and help KU double up TCU in team blocks (10.0-5.0). Her performance propelled her to third in the league in blocks per set (1.31), and the eight blocks was the second-most in the Big 12 in a three-set match this season. Her 2.67 block average led the league for the week and is nearly double the league’s season-leader’s average for the year. She is now second on all of KU’s career blocking lists: solo blocks (90), block assists (393) and total blocks (483).

Kristen Hahn, Iowa State, Sr., L, Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy
Hahn was dominant in the Cyclones’ back-row during ISU’s three-set victory over Baylor on Saturday. The senior finished the match with 21 digs, for an average of 7.00 digs per set as Iowa State out-dug the Bears 57-44. Hahn’s digs were well spread out with six in the first set, eight in the second set and seven in the final frame. Her total of 21 was the third-best output in a three-match set in the Big 12 this season. She continues to lead the conference in digs, with a season average of 5.56.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Chiaka Ogbogu, Texas, Fr., MB, Coppell, Texas/Coppell
Ogbogu recorded a .323 hitting percentage with an average of 2.50 kills last week as Texas swept conference opponents TCU and Oklahoma to start Big 12 play at 2-0. The freshman also recorded six blocks and averaged 3.08 points for the Longhorns.
